Description
Through contact with our customers, we have become aware that the ZF 5HP-19 automatic transmission (#A5S325Z) used in many 6-cylinder BMWs 00 thru 05 may suddenly lose reverse gear. This failure is the result of a broken clutch-pack snap-ring retaining lip (for the "D" clutch) on the main (D & G) clutch drum.The repair entails the replacement of the drum, along with any other damaged parts. This is also a good time to install new clutch plates and seals, as in our master rebuild kits.
